Lindsay wrapped her comforter around her and retreated as far from Jeff as she could. The boy stomped about like a conqueror, ferrying cushions off the couch.
“Victory,” he yelled once the cushions formed a neat rectangle bordered by four chairs. He spotted Lindsay and smiled. She gasped and hid under the comforter.
“Your blankie protects you, right?”Jeff asked.
The comforter-mummy nodded.
“It could protect us both.”
Lindsay peeked out of hiding. “How?”
Jeff pointed the four chairs. “I’ll show you.”
Slowly, Lindsay handed her blankie over. Jeff secured it on the chairs, over the cushions.
“Welcome to Blankie Castle!”
This is a drabble for Monday’s prompt.

Blanket fort building! A favorite weekend pastime of mine as a kid. Really cute story!

We made awesome forts with blankets or in the snow bank when I was a kid.
