Hello!
This is my fourth time taking part in Six Sentence Sunday which, as the name indicates, consists in posting any six sentence of a project on Sunday morning. I’ve chosen another excerpt from my 2010/2011 NaNo novel, Oil and Boiling Water. Next week’s six are probably going to be from this as well and then it’ll be off to betas and I’ll move on to a new project. 😉

“Did you get it?” Éloi asked as he met us on the bridge.
I replied by embedding his family crest deep into his left cheek. He stumbled a few steps backward.
“You had to teach her, didn’t you?” Éloi barked to his dad.

Thank you! The more I write, the more I realize I’m all about action. 😉

Yikes! I wonder what’s been happening betwen them all

To satisfy your curiosity a bit, his family crest got stolen and she went through a lot of trouble to retrieve it only to learn that the whole mess was his fault to begin with. *laughs*

Yikes! What did he do to her for her to react that way! Intriguing!

*laughs* I’m glad a few of you have this reaction!

Wow, high drama in this one. Love the family crest in his cheek. LOL

Thanks! It’s one of the images that just pop in your head while you right and sticks around through the edits.

Love her character! Can you tell I like tough women!? Lol. Poor Eloi! Btw you only have 4 sentences! 😉 I’m all for quality though and this is a great snippet. 🙂

I’m glad you enjoy her. You’re right about the 4 sentences! I counted the questions and taglines seperately when they’re actually part of the same sentence, aren’t they!
Oh well, I cheated!
January 8th, 2012 at 11:15 pm
Don’t think it’s cheating unless there are MORE than six. 🙂
January 8th, 2012 at 11:24 pm
It’s more like “I cheated you.” Said there’d be six and delivered only four. So ‘infomercial’ of me.

The crest to the cheek is just the kind of incident in a book that gives it that certain personality that is so enjoyable. Awesome detail. Enjoyed you “4.” 😉

Thank you J.M.! Hopefully this book is full of these things (my beta readers will confirm/deny soon).
