Hello!
This is my first time taking part in Six Sentence Sunday which, as the name indicates, consists in posting any six sentence of a project on Sunday morning. I’ve chosen an excerpt from my 2010/2011 NaNo novel, Oil and Boiling Water. It’s from the pages I edited last night. I’ll probably do the same thing next week unless it happens to fall on an excerpt I already posted during NaNo. 😉
Enjoy!

People stampeded above our heads and called out “mollusque” again.
“We say ‘medic’,” Mick explained.
“ ‘Mollusc’ doesn’t incite me to hurry.” Despite my reply, I secured the screwdriver in my tool belt and walked toward my shortcut down the top of the engine.
“You’d hurry if your brother bled on the kitchen floor.”
I spun on my heel and smacked my hand on Éloi’s cheek, effectively sparking surprise layered with a hurt ego and a hint of anger.

Welcome to SSS, Aheila!
Oil and Boiling Water sounds incredible. I like the last line. Looks like there is some history there.
Sensational six!

Hello Sandra! Welcome to my blog!
I’m glad you enjoyed my six! I’m hard at work trying to get that story into Beta readers hands in early January, so it’s great to know it’s interesting to people who know so little about it. 😉

Thank you! It’s a pleasure to finally join SSS. I wanted to make sure I’d have the time to read and reply to people. 😉

Any word can be used for help!, right? Love that little slap. Sounds almost friendly. 🙂

A friendly slap, huh? Those two characters have a great love/hate relationship. And there is a whole story behind “mollusque” (which unfortunately could never fit in the SSS.) 😉

Welcome to SSS! Nice setup of tension, with a hint of previous history and some world-building…

Welcome to the 6SS gang. Be interesting to see any future interaction between these two. I’m wondering how much the attitudes will alter. 🙂

“We say ‘medic’.” hehe Love the repartee, and the smack at the end is just your style… sparking interest and adding layers to the story and relationships. Great work Aheila. I’m really happy you’re doing SSS.
