Rookie – A Drabble

My unsteady ankles threatened to shake me off my stilettos. What had I always dreamed to do this again? My knees buckled so much they would soon bend backward. Maybe I finally found my signature walk! Meanwhile, I obsessed over my nervousness sweating to ruin my make-up and every time I turned to check in a mirror, I stumbled on my train which only made matters worse.
“Rookie! You rocked the catwalk during casting. So slow, deep breath or you’ll end up too close to the theme.”
Who’s sick sense of humour picked “train wreck” for this fashion show, anyway?
