Drabble Day – Paint

Good morning (or whatever time you will read this)!

I hope you guys had a great weekend. I know I had a lot of fun, which is good for the soul if not for the writing. *laughs* Luckily, we have the drabble day to start our week in a writerly fashion!

  • Read the prompt and find your angle.
  • Write a drabble (100 words story, give or take five words).
  • Post a direct link to your drabble in the comments (or, if you don’t have a blog, just go ahead and post your drabble in the comments).
  • In the post on your blog, make sure to link back to this post.

Today’s theme is: Paint!

Here is my drabble (in time this week, yay! My life seems to be falling back in line.)

Black lined my eyes with the fierceness of the days of yore. Or the football field. Almost violent and certainly worth noticing. I put it down and dipped the tip of my brush in a bold shade of green, a testament to unshakeable hopes and the will drawn from them. I applied it with patience and care to blend it with the existing colors.
I had many enemies to face today and every bit of camouflage counted towards successfully hiding my hesitations. With a touch of pale lipstick, I felt ready to tackle the boardroom’s war.
I could conquer this.
