I’m almost all caught up on my reading and comment replies. Yay! The only thing left is the drabbles you wrote for the Memory prompt. I preferred to take a bit of a break before I read them; I had a lot to do over the weekend and they deserve more than half my attention.
I spent part of my weekend starting the outline for my Script Frenzy project as April is coming really fast! One of the things I’m having problems with for this story is naming the characters. For some reason, as soon as I have their name, they finally decide to come to life and tell me how the heck they’re meant to work in my plot.
This story’s behavior is peculiar, more whimsical than my other WIPs, but I’ll eventually nail it down.
I’ve got my main character named: McKaylee ‘Mac’ O’Sullivan, witch and general do-gooder with an attitude. I asked about on Twitter for suggestions about her almost-brother-not-love-interest partner, chose one and then changed my mind while I was looking for the name of the cursed-but-oh-so-sexy-love-interest-material guy – whose name has yet to be chosen. So the partner’s Drew, the mentor’s Paddy – respectively a witch and an ex-witch – and I’m obsessed about finding the purrrrrfect name for the hunk currently labelled ‘X’ in my outline. *lesigh*
So that’s where today’s theme comes from.
Here is how the drabble challenge works!
- Read the prompt and find your angle.
- Write a drabble (100 words story, give or take five words).
- Post a direct link to your drabble in the comments (or, if you don’t have a blog, just go ahead and post your drabble in the comments).
- In the post on your blog, make sure to link back to this post.
Today’s theme is: Name!
I’ll post my story on Friday!
