Drabble Day – Ghost

I’ve felt a bit disincarnated lately. Fatigue will do that to a person. I guess that inspired today’s theme.

Here is how the drabble challenge works!

  • Read the prompt and find your angle.
  • Write a drabble (100 words story, give or take five words).
  • Post a direct link to your drabble in the comments (or, if you don’t have a blog, just go ahead and post your drabble in the comments).

Today’s prompt is: Ghost!

And here is my drabble!

On the goose bumps of my skin, the souvenir of control forever lost burns. The raw magic courses through my veins, reminding me of the threat I am. I step in what they used to call Ragnarök. The complex figures on the grand entrance’s door shake, fearful of the power I have. It hurts to think about the life I leave behind. The loss of my family stabs me more than the betrayal of my non-violence vow. I can’t beat this curse, no matter my efforts.
Hopefully, I’ll reunite with them in death.
If anything can ever kill me.
