Drabble Day – Sleep

I’ve been sleeping a lot lately; fighting off a cold, recuperating from the parties, compensating for the late night editing… So the subject kind of imposed itself for this week’s Drabble Challenge!

Here is how the drabble challenge works!

  • Read the prompt and find your angle.
  • Write a drabble (100 words story, give or take five words).
  • Post a direct link to your drabble in the comments (or, if you don’t have a blog, just go ahead and post your drabble in the comments).

Because of my laziness, today’s drabble prompt is : Sleep!

Sleep
“It’s 6 AM! Welcome, newly awakened listeners!”
I smashed snooze and hugged my comforter. Why did Jensen wake up to the local radio?
“Rise and shine! A lovely day awaits every listener!”
I slapped the alarm clock again and turned on my side. Why wasn’t Jensen here?
“Sports News are rather boring today.”
Why don’t they ever play any music?
“In five minutes, we’ll change the life of one of our auditors.”
Snooze. I’d be late for work. Why bother?
“Oh! Hasn’t Jensen proposed in the cutest way? You heard it live on your favorite radio.”
Why did I snooze?
