I’m Alive!

Hey there!

Yesterday was the office’s Christmas party (which I was organizing for the third year in a row.) We had a big meal at a hotel, a casino and a live band (with whom I sang two songs).
Every year, no matter how much preparation I put into the event, there are always a couple of things that make me run around during that evening. That’s why I only join the drinking once the band is playing their final set and that almost nothing requires my attention anymore. I’m the last one to leave the party to ensure that everyone gets home safely and to gather up lost items.
And on the day after, I’m a zombie.
Today is no exception. *laughs* And while I’m totally beat and wondering why I put myself through this every year, I know that tomorrow, I’ll be ready to do it again. Why? Because of their smile. The sheer joy of knowing that 80 people had an awesome evening. The satisfaction that some of them went out of their way to thank me and tell me this was my best party yet.
And the challenge of topping it off next year. 😉
And because they are cool people to party with.

So I’m a bit late in my response to comments on the blog but it’s for a good cause. I’ll try to catch up tomorrow.
I hope you guys all have awesome party planned for the holidays!
