There’s a Symphony Outside

I’ve been trying to write today and I just can’t concentrate. I type a few sentences then my attention wanders outside and I find myself looking out the window. There’s a big tree out back. From my third story apartment, I stand in its leaves as they cradle my balcony. Today, the wind feels romantic. Its breath brushes the branches and make the leaves sing softly. They dance on their own music depicting a world of ever-moving lights and greenery.
If I close my eyes, it sometimes sounds like a wave washing on the beach before returning to mysterious depths. Then the wind changes its blow and the music loses its uniformity. I hear the thousands of leaves, floating one after the other. The silence comes back. No one can predict how the next harmony will play.
How can I concentrate with such beauty out my window? All I can do is head out, time my breath with the symphony and let my spirit soar.
