Hello!
It’s time for another Drabble Day!
Remember how it works?
- Read the prompt and find your angle.
- Write a drabble (100 words story, give or take five words).
- Post a direct link to your drabble in the comments (or, if you don’t have a blog, just go ahead and post your drabble in the comments).
- In the post on your blog, make sure to link back to this post.
Today’s prompt is: Purple!
My drabble will come later today!
Awesome writerly week to all of you!

While walking to work Terri had taken to dictating on her tiny voice recorder with the purple cover. Each day she donned her purple walking shoes, fastened on her purple fanny pack around her waist. Now the neighborhood called her “the purple lady”. She’d heard that once, she only smiled. Purple was his color. The last thing he did was give her a gift of a purple velvet box, then he was gone. She had never opened the box, she did not have to. Just seeing the color filled her with warmth and strength to go on. And though she would never see him again, she dictated letters, every day, that would never be mailed to her purple lover.

Hello Kitty!
Nice first participation to Drabble Day! I really like how we go from the weird lady with the purple fanny pack to bittersweet love story.
That’s a lot to put in a hundred words!

Thanks, I was not sure if I was doing it right, but it was fun anyway. Kitty
